Office Depot selects and installs bespoke furniture for city council – on time and on budget


When Brighton and Hove City Council made the move from King’s House to Hove Town Hall, it was keen to implement new office furniture that would enhance the surroundings, as well as have added health benefits to employees. To do this, it called upon the expertise and management of Office Depot’s furniture interiors team to specially select aesthetically appealing pieces and coordinate their installation into the new premises quickly and efficiently. Overseeing the project, from procurement of new products to logistics, Office Depot ensured that they delivered on brief, on time and on budget.


Brighton and Hove City Council provides a full range of local government services to its city, including council tax billing, libraries, social services, waste collection and more. Although the council’s employees were originally based at Hove Town Hall, in 2015 they had to relocate to allow the landmark property to undergo a 15-month refurbishment to both its exterior and interior. Having never previously used Office Depot’s furniture interiors services, the council utilised its extensive product range and dedicated team of project managers to implement new furniture and equipment into its new site.

The creation of a specialist team with a dedicated project manager was absolutely essential for us, especially with a project of this size. It was critical that the team made the process flawless for our employees, with as little disruption as possible. With Office Depot, our workers did not have to get involved with the move at all – in fact, the move was so seamless that furniture and equipment was ready to use as soon as our teams moved into the new site.
